Market leaders have been re-energized by the market's post earthquake resiliency. It is noteworthy however, that homebuilder and chip stocks struggled yesterday. This suggests a lack of broad market participation and sector rotation.
The Russell 2000 continues to race ahead of the pack, and as the end of the quarter approaches, it is just conceivable that a last-minute spurt could see this micro-cap index challenge the previous historic high.
The stock market indices had another up-day today. The day started out with a big gap to the upside. The indices then sold sharply, but held support, and then came on again to new highs for the entire rally by midday.
