Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for September 11

The choppy intraday trade on Monday has not left much by way of plannable trades for Tuesday. Coupled with Bernanke’s scheduled oratory entitled "Global Imbalances, Recent Developments and Their Implications" (11:00 EST) and there is likely to be thin choppy activity for a good portion of the day. There are a few patterns worth looking at for the session, but for the most part, I expect to be watching from the sidelines for most of the day.

A Double Header setup in Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM) presents an interesting opportunity for Tuesday’s trading if broader selling resumes. We will look for a short sale entry opportunity below 48.20.

Community Health Systems (CYH) had a Fast Ball expansion move lower on Monday and will be on the radar Tuesday for a short side continuation.

Smith International (SII) left a Switch Hitter setup going into the Tuesday session. The close was lower in the range than I would like to see, but the choppy trading on Monday left many setups in less than optimal formations. We will be interested in trade above the high of the session.
