Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for August 1

Ball Corp (BLL) left a Switch Hitter setup on Tuesday and looks poised for another move to the downside.

Cooper Companies Inc (COO) made a Fast Ball expansion of range and will be on our list of potential short sales on Wednesday.

Nordstrom Inc (JWN) tried a gap move higher on Tuesday, only to get the proverbial smackdown throughout the trading day, leaving an Infield Fly going into Wednesday’s trading. We will look for a short sale opportunity on any trade below the 50 period simple moving average.

We will also be watching shares of Quicksilver Resources Inc. (KWK) for a resumption of the recent downward trend. The stock is a Switch Hitter setup with substantial daily range and intraday volatility.
