Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for April 21

Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for April 21

Thursday was one of those days.  None of the Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch showed up for the party, making for a protracted session with no triggers. The last two sessionââ,¬â"¢s price action has not been particularly friendly to an intraday swing trading style, with many of the planned trades triggering, making it to 50% of the target (which is where I bump stops to scratch), and then reversing to yield a goose egg. Hopefully Friday will provide a little more by way of follow through.

On Friday, we will be watching CSX Corp (CSX) again. The stock made a strong upward move with little or no retracement over the past month, leading to a two-day Infield Fly setup. I will be particularly interested if the transports head lower after the open.

Heinz (HNZ) also looks interesting. The stock had a month long consolidation leading to a Fast Ball move higher on Thursday. HNZ tends to march to its own drummer intraday, so we will watch for price and volume cues to indicate opportunity is present.

Reckson Realty (RA) is perched atop a Switch Hitter and looks as though it may resume its downtrend.
