Live Trading Room Stock Setups For May 17

Live Trading Room Stock Setups For May 17

Eight stocks triggered trades, but nothing went to the target. We just didn't see enough follow-through today. It was certainly a possibility, especially after two strong trending days in a row.

Trailing stops kept the day positive. I like to look for a pullback of at least 20 cents from the current price to move my stop under. Sometimes we don't get that. I like to move my stop to breakeven, regardless of a pullback, if I get 20-cent pop from the entry price. If we've already moved the stop to breakeven and there isn't a good pullback to trail the stop, an inflection point can be used. Pulling in the stop towards yesterday's high in KBR is an example from today.

AIZ LONG 49.28 49.38 $0.10 Trail hit.
DPS LONG 49.61 49.67 $0.06 Trail hit.
FBHS LONG 43.11 42.81 $(0.30)
FBO LONG 65.03 65.03 $-
HCN LONG 77.02 76.90 $(0.12) Exit end of day.
KBR LONG 32.49 32.73 $0.24 Trail hit.
RHI LONG 35.27 35.40 $0.13 Trail hit.
BVN SHORT 17.98 17.89 $0.09 Exit end of day.

Total of $0.20 per share. Multiply average share size to estimate gross earnings. 1000 shares per trade would be $200 gross earnings for the day.

Wide-range bar setups for the next trading day. The day trade setup is only good for the upcoming trading session.

Entries, targets, and stops are based on the day's likely inflection points, and natural support and resistance. Avoid trade until bid/ask spread narrows.
