Live Trading Room Stock Setups For May 10

Live Trading Room Stock Setups For May 10

The stock market rolling over in a steep sell-off the last two hours of the session prevented some of our stocks from hitting their targets. We trailed out of four stocks with small gains. The rollover turned a potentially great day into a good day.

In the Live Trading Room, we discussed targeting inside of the day's high when a stock drops down to the S1 Pivot. This worked in CNX, but it was too far away in COF and LOW.

There are nice looking trades in ITW (long) and HCP (short), but I couldn't find clean entries out of consolidations. Traders looking for extra trades can make stabs at these types of trades, but I like to define and control my risk first and then concern myself with profits.

CNX LONG 35.09 35.69 $0.60
COF LONG 59.01 59.11 $0.10 Trail hit.
FIS LONG 43.73 43.77 $0.04 Trail hit.
HRS LONG 48.49 48.67 $0.18 Trail hit.
LOW LONG 41.79 41.62 $(0.17)
LOW LONG 41.69 41.87 $0.18 Trail hit.
STWD LONG 28.27 28.23 $(0.04) Exit end of day.
TWI LONG 23.71 23.53 $(0.18)
UNH LONG 61.95 61.72 $(0.23)
DTV SHORT 39.03 38.68 $0.35

Total of $0.83 per share. Multiply average share size to estimate gross earnings. 1000 shares per trade would be $830 gross earnings for the day.

Wide-range bar setups for the next trading day. The day trade setup is only good for the upcoming trading session.

Entries, targets, and stops are based on the day's likely inflection points, and natural support and resistance. Avoid trade until bid/ask spread narrows.

Additional stocks may be posted in the Live Trading Room in the morning. The room opens at the opening bell. There is no pre-market analysis or chat, because pre-market data has no effect on how or what I will trade. There are typically no trades within the first 15 minutes of the market session. Request your free invitation to the trading room here.
