Live Trading Room Stock Setups For April 22

Just before I shut down the live trading room for the day, I mentioned that BEAM didn't meet my criteria for a trade, but advanced traders might want the pullback at $64.46, with a 16-cent stop. Two bars later, we did meet my criteria for a momentum bar with a still tight stop of only 30 cents. The trade triggered within two bars at $64.60. BEAM didn't quite hit the target, and took back about 30 cents on the trailing stop at $64.77.

VMWARE (VMV) gets our Lucky Trade-of-the-Week Award. A trade with a 35-cent stop triggered during the market lunch hour, and then procedured to consolidate for two hours, coming within a few cents of the stop. A late sell-off took the stock from the S1 Pivot to the S2 Pivot. The late sell-off to the target is a little lucky, but a good illustration of why I trade the way I do. I pick big targets and give my stocks time and space to get there. I also set targets just inside the likely inflection point.

BEAM LONG 64.60 64.77 $0.17 Trail hit.
CAVM SHORT 29.96 29.65 $0.31 Trail hit.
LLY SHORT 56.52 56.75 $(0.23)
RAX SHORT 45.11 45.11 $-
VMW SHORT 73.15 72.11 $1.04

Total of $1.29 per share. Multiply average share size to estimate gross earnings. 1000 shares per trade would be $1,290 gross earnings for the day.

Wide-range bar setups for the next trading day. The day trade setup is only good for the upcoming trading session. Additional setups may be available in the live trading room. Request your free invitation here.

Entries, targets, and stops are based on the day's likely inflection points, and natural support and resistance. Avoid trade until bid/ask spread narrows.
