Around the Horn: Extra Innings for April 25

Thursday, April 24, we had three Stocks to Watch and three Around the Horn subscription trades on our radar. Of these, four were profitable, with one of these a stop loss on first entry and two were no-shows.

Corn Prods Intl Inc (CPO) was a Double Header short for Thursday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. CPO opened and began trading lower, hitting our entry level and trading lower with volatility, through the S1 pivot and kissing our initial profit target. Exit was at this level or as close as possible as CPO pulled in sharply.

Salesforce Com Inc (CRM) was a Sinker short for Thursday’s Around the Horn subscription trade list. CRM opened and may have shaken you out once on the volatility. Second entry was much more satisfying, trading to the target level quickly. Exit was at this level, with any remaining shares probably also taken out at this level.

Ball Corp (BLL) was a 3-2 Pitch long for Thursday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. BLL opened and started trading higher, with little looking back for over two points in less than 20 minutes. BLL then leveled out, but the conservative exit was on the cross of the 8 period moving average at the break lower of the consolidation. Hindsight shows any shares left open were good until toward end of day.

Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM) was a Fastball short for Thursday’s Stocks to Watch trade list. AEM gapped opened lower, but traded up to our entry level of below yesterday’s low. This one was good for pivot plays, from entry to R1 and entry to R2 or R1 to R2.
