Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for January 18

On Friday we will watch Arch Coal (ACI) for a continuation Fast Ball moved to the downside. Thursday's trading has the stock resting on support and any additional downward momentum could easily push the stock to around 33.70 per share.

Arch Coal Inc. (ACI)

Agnico - Eagle Mines (AEM) also made a fastball move on Thursday. We will watch the stock for additional downside in Friday's trading. Any move below 53.30 will have me interested in shorting the stock if five-minute or 25-tick support and resistance become obvious on the intraday chart.

Charter One Financial (CF) is one of the few stocks in the group that has yet to put it in significant downside action. On Thursday the stock made a large range fastball move lower on very heavy volume. We will watch the stock on Friday for trade below 89.24, and will be interested in establishing a short position if a logical stop loss can be established given the stocks very wide average true range.
