Around the Horn: Stocks to Watch for October 1

On Monday, we will watch Varian Medical Systems for a possible follow-through move on the heels of Friday’s Line Drive move to the upside. Friday’s move occurred on solid volume, with a spike of volume and price into the close.

The homebuliders continue to be on the interest list as potential shorts. Centex (CTX), D.R. Horton Inc. (DHI) and Lennar Corp (LEN) at the top of my interest list. We will watch for evidence of intraday rally attempts that are met by selling resistance to provide intraday entry opportunities.
